For District 1 New Kent School Board Member

Adriane Marshall is a preschool teacher with Henrico Recreation and Parks. Prior to working for Henrico, Adriane worked for New Kent County for seven years in the Community Development Department which gave her great understanding of local government’s planning, building and environmental policy.

Her passion for education is what drove her to become a school board member four years ago. While she is elected to represent District 1, she will tell you, a school board member truly serves the entire county. Being on the school board allows Adriane to support all students attending New Kent public schools through excellent educational programing. She continues to be committed to support the needed growth of school facilities and the expansion of educational opportunities as the county’s population grows. Adriane will be advocating for the expansion of vocational and technical programs, such as HVAC and electrical apprentice opportunities. Other educational expansion opportunities include sign language and foreign language classes

Adriane has lived over half her life in New Kent County. Born in New Kent, she attended school in Eastern Henrico and moved back to New Kent before having two children, who currently attend New Kent Public Schools.

Adriane graduated from James Madison University. After graduation, she served in the United States Coast Guard.
