For District 4 New Kent School Board Member
Paul Ross and his family have lived in New Kent since 2007. He retired from Federal service after 27 years. Before retiring from the Transportation Security Administration (TSA) he was the Senior Advisor to the Deputy Chief Acquisition Officer and served 3 years as the Federal Security Director at Eppley Airfield in Omaha, Nebraska. He was responsible for federal security oversight of nine federalized airports and statewide TSA surface transportation security operations for the State of Nebraska.
During his 15-year career with the TSA, he served in critical leadership roles across the United States, including; Deputy Federal Security Director for the Transportation Security Operations Center.
Prior to joining the TSA, Mr. Ross was a commercial airline pilot for sixteen years with US Airways. He also served twenty-seven years in the United States Navy, seven years on active duty and twenty years on Reserve assignments, including four command tours.
Mr. Ross holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Aerospace Engineering from the United States Naval Academy, Annapolis, Maryland and a Master of Arts degree in National Security Studies from the US Naval War College, Newport, Rhode Island. He is an Office of Personnel Management (OPM) certified Senior Executive and retired from the US Navy Reserve as a Captain.
Paul has 3 children and 6 grandchildren and has taken a special interest in New Kent’s Public Schools and educating our youth. He attends every School Board meeting and believes greater citizen input in Board meeting sessions and overall transparency and reporting of operational activities and financial management is critical for New Kent’s future.
